VN - Ren'Py - Being a DIK [v0.11.1] [DrPinkCake]

One of the best games I've ever played. It's not just another exposition, boobs, exposition games. This is the first game of this nature that really brought me into the whole genre. The story is engaging and all of the characters are very well written.

By far the best game on the site. Beautiful renders, great character development, fun mini games, and also great sex. Super excited for the next update. Hopefully some more Jill content in store because Jill and Bella are by far the two best.

Dr. Pinkcake biggest strength is his dialogue writing, characters building and setting up scene. He's just the master at it. I feel like I'm watching some Netflix series about college, sex & drugs just by reading his dialogues & seeing some scenes. He knows how to pull your heart's string, be it in comedic or melodramatic way. Not to mention his ability to select soundtrack that can amplify some scenes

His biggest weakness is his ability to develop conflict within characters, for example I feel like the whole Maya co-signing his student loan with his dad is tad unrealistic? How does that even work? She signed the student loan but didn't get the money? Also Jill's recent conflict in Episode 6 is also kinda forced. She is a smart & sharp young woman but is willing to do what Tybalt asked just like that?

I'm still rating this full five because writing wise, this is on its own league and waaay above anything else here (except maybe for Katawa Shoujo, it's on par)

Excellent game. I think it was one of the first games that I had the fortune to try with such an incredible story, I really liked it, as well as the characters, it is incredible how each story intertwines and gives reason to another thing (if you pay enough attention). It is one of the best games I have played and I look forward to future updates on it. I have heard that many did not like the part of Maya (one of the characters) for... Doing certain things and well, in my opinion, this is "justified" in part 6 through a dialogue, in which if we pay attention we realize why certain things may happen in the story or why each character is like this... In conclusion, do not criticize a book for its cover. A great work.

Easily one of the best games I've ever played. The story has been a fantastic follow. I may not have played many games from this site, but this has shot straight up to the top. Seriously cannot recommend more. Every character seems different and that is fantastic.

Disclaimer: I admit that my mediocre rating (just 4 out of 5 stars) is to be understood relative to the generally raving reception; and relative to the better (in my opinion) "Acting Lessons". I would have rated another, lesser known or less loved game of this quality with 5 stars. That may be unfair on inappropriate, but what can you do.

The good: good writing, good story development, likeable characters

The mediocre: Some of the graphics is a little bit run-of-the-mill / uninspired / soulless. Unfortunately the usual cases of grotesquely humongous tits / hourglassiness on some characters (including one of my otherwise favorite characters, Bella; I love her facial expressions), and an MC with oversized cock. The MC is depicted regularly, and I find his looks sometimes quite obnoxious (his facial expressions when he grins).

The bad: While I understand that it is difficult to impossible to offer choices so that the MC behaves according to each player's taste, I found the god-given desire of the MC to join DIC in the first place, and even more his acceptance of the bizarre hazings, quite off-putting (the game tries to argue a bit in this direction, but come on; update: somehow that gets better later in the game, don't know why (maybe the expectations were lowered sufficiently such that every time you can behave not like a complete asshole you are pleasantly surprised....)

i loved the game and could not stop playing. the grafics were good, the relationships are fun and there is a lot of emotional deepness to them, li s have good designed personalities as well. if you are looking for something with story and minigames this game is right for you. i dont really enjoy straight sex (being a lesbian) and this game has so much more that sex.

Best VN out there at this time. Multiple paths to take, different choices to make. You'll need multiple saves for different paths, but it can be played twice to get the jist of it though (DIK or CHICK playthrough).

This game is the gold standard for all the games on this site. It is more that a porn game it is a work of art. The story and the characters are really good and most importantly it is fun and will suck you in. Once you start with this game you will never look back.

ok so I dont usually review things but this one deserves it. The girls are hot, there is several parts that had me in tears i was laughing so hard. the story is entertaining, its one you can enjoy without skipping straight to the sex scenes. I would say the only things I would like different is more money for people who skip the minigames, and wish you could choose to see some of the HOTS girls, also wish being with Maya and Josey was possible without the chick status

Best adult game I've played so far.
I like that it's more than just a porn game, might sound weird but at moments I just couldn't stop playing cuz I was so into the story.

I've heard people say that the models are somewhat generic but I find them very high quality.

This is by far the best VN I've ever played and the best adult game I've ever played. The writing is awesome. It's funny as hell, the sex scenes are great, the mini games are pretty fun, and there are a lot of different paths depending on your choices. I'm on like my 6th playthrough, and I haven't gotten the same result yet .

What can you say about this game that hasnt already been said?
This game is far and beyond anything else in this genere. It is the best erotic VN out there, period.
The renders, the animations, the story, choices, characters, and the interactivity. The game is very immersive. Playing this game actually feels like entering another world. A world most would prefer living in, there is no higher praise than that.
You'd be surprised to learn that there is actually just one person making this game, not a tripple A studio like you would be tempted to belive.

Been a fan of the Doc since acting lessons, and even then he shattered my expectations.
The writing, story, renders, animations, and especially the music pretty much outclass everything you can find on this forum without fail. Don't just take my word for it. Try the game for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Judging by 5 episodes I played, I'd say this is the best game I've played in this genre and that by far. It can be seen that it's the same creator who worked on Acting Lessons, but it seems, that this time, he had even more resources to make his visions come true.

I like the campus atmosphere a lot, the rivalry between social groups was nicely portrayed. I've grown to like Derek as I did Liam from the previous game, as well as the most of the DIK guys. As for the girls, every one has its own nice story and personality, so it's hard making the decision who'd you want to be with. The choices feel significant and can shape the story in multiple ways. The soundtrack is also great, I like how the certain songs are scripted for some of the scenes for a more emotional impact.

I'd suggest saving this one for the last, as I can't play anything else after it, it just doesn't feel right.
